New Addictions

Here a few of my new addications....

Orange Leaf Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt.....and about 50 different toppings....
Only 66 locations in the U.S. and the only one in Kentucky is in Lexington. There is one in Tennessee, but it is at Opry Mills, and we all know that is closed. So if you want to try Orange Leaf, come see me and we will go right across the road and get some!

Glee...my new favorite television show.
New episode tonight at 8pm eastern time. I WILL be there!

Thirty One Gifts...
I am now a consultant of Thirty One (31) and I LOVE these bags! They make amazing gifts. If you are interested, please let me know!

BeautiControl Spa....
I am also a BeautiControl consultant! These products are absolutely amazing and I had never had clear skin since middle school until I began using their Acne line. The products range from spa and relazation products to skincare to makeup. Again, they make amazing gifts, and please let me know if you are interested!

Christmas Shopping

I am so excited to say that a majority of my Christmas shopping is finished! And what is not finished, I at least know what I am going to get for those people. If you are one of those people, like me, that loves giving or recieving giftcards, there is a great deal at Kroger right now. If you spend $100 in gift cards (yes, I know that sounds like a fortune, but just hear me out), you get 40 CENTS off per gallon of gas! Kroger has gift cards to almost everywhere so you can even go purchase cards to the places you intend on going to purchase gifts, and use them on your own.

I have a a really easy, delicious recipe for Pumpkin Muffins if you are looking for something to make for Thanksgiving or just for an easy desssert.

Pumpkin Muffins

1 regular size can of canned pumpkin (I use Libby pure pumpkin)
1 box of Spice Cake

*Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
*Mix the pumpkin and cake mix together (you do not add water, eggs, or anything else called for on box)
*Put into muffin pan and let bake for 15-18 minutes
Pumpkin_Muffins.jpg
Told you they were easy!  And as an added bonus, they are only 2pts on the Weight Watchers diet!

Coupon Clipping and Money Saving

Since I have been married, I have picked up a lot on couponing. I wish I would have known all of this while I was in college and on a stricter budget because I could have saved so much more money.

A few of my favorite places that are great for finding deals and using coupns are Meijer, Kroger, Rite Aid, and Target. I get the Sunday newspaper each week and compare the deals that are in there with the coupons that I have.

Kroger - You will need a Kroger plus card. You can get those for free at the customer service desk at your local Kroger. Once you obtain a card, go to http://www.kroger.com/ to enroll it in coupons that you can load straight onto your card. You can load up to 150 at a time and they are automatically taken off when you check out at Kroger. You can use this as well as a manufacturer's coupon. With manufacturer's coupons,  Kroger will double them if they are valued at 50 cents of less.

Meijer - Meijer will also double your coupons if they are 50 cents or less. You do not have to have a shoppers card to get dicsounts at Meijer, but you can use their website http://www.meijermealbox.com/ to plan your meals and to print coupons. They also run a lot of specials each week where you spend a specific amount or buy so many of one item and you will get a catalina (a coupon that prints out at the register that gives you a dollar amount off of your next purchase).

Rite Aid - While many people think that Rite Aid is expensive, I have found that if you purchase items when they are on sale and stack your coupons with them, you can come out with some really great deals. First off, you will need to get a free Rite Aid Wellness Card. You can get this from any register at a Rite Aid Store. They run lots of specials where you pay a certain amount and you will recieve a +UP reward for a given amount after your purchase. Another money saving option that Rite Aid offers is the Video Values program. Basically, you go to http://www.riteaid.com/, create an account, and you can watch short commercials about different products in the store. After you do, you will earn a coupon for that item. After you receive 20 credits from watching videos, you get a $4 off $20 purchase. Also, Rite Aid offers Single Check rebates on many of their items each month. You can actually come out MAKING money if you know how to shop.

There are also deals like this with CVS and Walgreens. CVS also has a shoppers card, but Walgreens does not. A great website to check for these deals is http://www.moneysavingmom.com/, click on the Store Deals, select your store, and you can see what the specials are for the week.

Here are a few more things that I find helpful in saving me money:
*Purchase "All You" magazine each month. The best place to find it is at Wal-Mart.
* http://www.redplum.com/
* http://www.smartsaver.com/
* http://www.allyou.com/
* http://www.ebates.com/

Happy Saving, and please let me know if you have questions or find any amazing deals!

Thankfulness and Maddness

This week always makes me laugh. Thursday and the days leading up to it are filled with everyone saying how thankful they are for everyone and everything that they have in their lives. Everyone is happy, and happy to be together.

HOWEVER, when the clock strikes 4am (and in some cases, much earlier) the next morning, the maddness of Black Friday begins and everyones thankful mindset goes to "gotta get out and find the best deal and stock up and knock people over so I can get the hottest item of the season" mode.

What I find to be the most sad about the whole situation is that so many retailers this year are opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day. While I know that the economy is not at its best right now, and companies are trying to earn every penny they can and not miss a sale, this is extremely unfortunate for those who have to work on this holiday and are unable to spend it with their family.
